Setting your Facebook page’s call to action button

Each Facebook page comes with the ability to set a call to action button (CTA) that sits prominently at the top of your Facebook page. This button can link to anything you’d like!

Through ActionSprout you can easily set any of your actions as your CTA button on Facebook. Now when supporters visit your Facebook page they could be promoted to sign a petition, make a donation, learn more..etc.

Setting your CTA button through ActionSprout

First, if you haven’t used this feature yet, you may need to authorize the new permission to set your CTA button via ActionSprout. You can do so from your larger permissions menu or you’ll be asked to do so inside the share drawer:

Once authorized, you’ll be able to set any of your actions as your page’s CTA button:

  1. Click the green Share on any action you’d like to use
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the right hand share menu that opens
  3. Click the large Set as button

That’s it! Your action is now your call to action at the top of your Facebook page:

You can now test and review your new button on Facebook 🙂

Further customizing your CTA button on Facebook

By default all donation actions will be set as a “donate now” button. All other actions will be set as a “learn more” button. If you would like to customize this you will need to do so directly through Facebook.

  1. Log into Facebook
  2. Navigate to your Facebook page
  3. Click the new CTA button at the top of your page and then click edit button:

4. From here you’ll be able to change the language of your button:
