You can connect your ActionSprout campaigns directly with your NationBuilder database so that all of the contacts you capture via Facebook appear in your database and are updated with appropriate campaign tags.
Activating the NationBuilder Integration
To connect your ActionSprout to NationBuilder, log into your account, click the Settings tab then Integrations.
Inside the integrations menu scroll and find NationBuilder.
Enter the name of your NationBuilder account in the box, then click Connect NationBuilder.
Note: Your NationBuilder name is the part of your NationBuilder domain before “nationbuilder.com”. If your NationBuilder account is honeybees.nationbuilder.com, then your NationBuilder ID is honeybees.
If you’re using a custom domain go to yourdomain.com/admin and you’ll see your resulting NationBuilder url and name.
Important: this should be a single word no spaces and needs to be all lower case.
You’ll then be asked to log in to your NationBuilder account to complete the connection. Once you’ve done that, you’re good to go.
NationBuilder Integration in Action
Once you’ve activated the integration, supporters that take action on your ActionSprout campaigns will automatically flow into your NationBuilder account. Contacts originating from ActionSprout will receive three NationBuilder tags: “ActionSprout”, the name of your ActionSprout campaign and the unique action slug.
Can I add ActionSprout contacts to an existing NationBuilder petition?
The NationBuilder API does not currently support this. However, once your contacts have landed in NationBuilder, you can manually update the number of petition signers by going to your NationBuilder petition page and then to Petition settings > Basics > Additional signatures to add to the total.
What if I am using a custom domain?
Simply go to yourdomain.com/admin and you’ll see your resulting NationBuilder url and name. Now you can follow the instructions above.
Will my past action data be sent over as well?
Yes, your past data can also be automatically sent to NationBuilder through this integration. You’ll just need to resync the individual actions that contain older data. Click the Edit button on action(s) in question, and the select the integrations tab at the top:
From here, scroll down a bit to find the Resync button:
Once done this data will start to be sent to NationBuilder and may take a few minutes to complete depending on how much data needs to be sent.
