First: You Need a Tracking Pixel
Tracking pixels attach to Social Actions, so you can see how they're performing and capture the audience that engages with it to target later.
So to get started, log into your Facebook Ads page, click the Ads Manager button at the top, and then choose Pixels.
If you have a pixel set up already, you should see it on the next screen. To create a new pixel, click the Set Up Pixel button and follow the steps they provide.
When you get to the end, and have your code snippet, all you'll want is the pixel ID which is usually in blue:
Second: Attach the Pixel to your Social Action
Next, log into ActionSprout and select the Facebook page you'd like to work with from the Accounts screen.
Open Social Actions, and find the action you'd like to apply the pixel to. Click the Edit button under the Action.
On the next page, select Integrations at the top.
Find the Facebook Pixel ID box and paste in your Facebook pixel ID. Click Save Changes.
Understanding and Fine Tuning Your Results
Once you have a Facebook pixel set up, you can then view different pixel "events" for a social action via the ActionSprout app. These are different ways to track supporter interaction with a Social Action so you can then tweak your message and retarget supporters as necessary.
This not only increases the intended success of your action, but it also lowers your overall ad costs by reaching your supporters in the most effective, efficient way.
