If you have an active Facebook page and engaged supporters, it may be time to start thinking about fundraising for your cause.

To get started, log into ActionSprout and select the Facebook page you'd like to work with from the Accounts screen.

To fundraise through ActionSprout, you'll first need a Stripe account. If you don’t have one already, you can create one here. Otherwise, follow this guide to connect Stripe and ActionSprout. More information on setting up Stripe + ActionSprout.

Next, open the Social Actions section of your account and click the green Create Action button at the top.

Find Donations in the list of social actions and click the Create button.

This will open the action Editing screen, where you'll add your call-to-action, description, and image.

Here's an example of a donation Social Action if you need a sense of how the parts all fit together 😀

At the bottom of the page, you’ll find a place to set up your donation form and buttons. Toggle on the donation option and fill in the information, as you see here:

The Amounts text box is where you'll create your donation buttons. Separate each amount with a comma (no spaces). They will appear like this once you're finished:

When you're ready to share your new donation action on Facebook, just click the green share button in the upper right corner of the screen:

This will open the smart scheduling menu:

Include your donation appeal in the message box at the top. This text will be shared at the top of the Facebook post. Remember, you are trying to catch and keep people's attention in a busy News Feed! Choose your words wisely and put the most important parts first.

Then choose a recommended time to post you donation appeal. This list is customized to your particular Facebook Page and followers. This information is provided to all Facebook Page managers and predicts when a large group of your Facebook Page fans will log back into Facebook. Posting at these times can greatly increase the reach and engagement of your posts. And that's especially important for a donation appeal!

When you're all done hit the scheduled post button.

And that's it! Now you’re ready to create and share your own donation action and start accepting donations on Facebook!
